Made it to Paris

Wow!  What can happen in just a few hours?  They said that traveling internationally you should be at the air port 3 hours before your flight, so, we were.  Our flight was supposed to leave Des Moines at 2:55.  The Delta staff got to us, finally at 5:30 ish, just as a flight was boarding headed to Atlanta.  If we could get there we could snag a flight to Paris from there.  It seems someone was determined we WOULD be in Paris and we were whisked, yes whisked, to a gate in another area of the airport to board a plane headed to France.  We got to Paris about 1PM Paris time instead of the earlier planned 8:30 AM.  Then our transportation was not at the airport.  Tried to get my euros  out of an atm machine, ok time to get with wellsfargo.  Got another cab to hotel.  Rested a bit and went down the street and had amazing.  Lots of motorcycles driving all over.  They are crazy!  Tomor?
Ok we are really tired so more tomorrow

Parisian Wedding

Well, I am going to make an attempt to use my blog to hopefully share the happenings of this Paris, France trip, and Parisian Wedding.

I am only taking my kindle, and hopefully I will be able to do this from that.  Everyone, enjoy.  I hope this works.

Day 12 of 30 Days of Thanks

I am actually going to try to catch up a few days here and hopefully do better the rest of November. This really is an important time. One of the students told me the other day that their Father will not allow discussion of Christmas until after Thanksgiving. He feels that it is wrong to have Christmas out there and everyone asking for gifts, when we have not dealt with being Thankful at Thanksgiving time. I like his thinking!

Day 2: I am thankful to have a job, that I love. I get up and go to work and enjoy it every moment.

Day 3: I am thankful for being able to walk. Yes, Walk. Being thankful for the basic things in our lives that we too often take for granted. Walking, seeing, feeling, hearing, touching, etc. With issues that I have, I was told in November 2004 that I would probably not be walking in 6 months...Well, many years later, I AM Walking! Sometimes not great, but I AM WALKING. Its wonderful!

Day 4: I am thankful for my two wonderful sons. What would I do without you. Because of you, I have cried, laughed, worried, been mad, and many emotions that I would not have without you. You have made me proud. I have enjoyed watching you grow every single day of your lives. Rich and Mike, you really are THE best! I Love you both! I am thankful for your father, he gave me both of you!

Day 5: I am thankful that Rich chose Tina to be his wife, to be my daughter in law. She cares so much for our family as we care for her. She is always showing her love to us in everything she does. Tina, you are wonderful and I love you!

Day 6: I am thankful for the right and ability to vote for those men and women who run the United States of America. I respect my ability to vote by voting. It took a long time for Women to be able to vote, and for that I am also thankful.
Well, I see once again, that I did not keep up with daily posts for November, after only one day. I have been thankful for many things, not just in November, but all year around. I know yesterday was Veterans Day and Day 11, and I am so Thankful for all the Men and Women that are deceased or living, Past, Present and Future serving with any of the Armed Forces and their families. You protect us every day. Without all of you, where would the rest of us be? Thank you to you AND your families. My Dad served in Korea, Dennis' dad in World War II and Dennis is currently in the Iowa Army National Guard. I know several that are serving currently.

November is Here

Today is the first day of November, it doesn't seem possible.  I am going to try to do this on a daily basis this year, and that is post something I am thankful for each and every day this month.  I always start out well, but then I seem to drop off.  This is almost the end of the year and a good time to reflect upon the past year and how we have been blessed, even at times we wondered about things when things seem tough.

Today I am thankful for the beautiful day we are having, the sun, crisp temperatures.  I love Fall so this is just the most perfect day there could be.  I am going to enjoy it, enjoy breathing the air, enjoy it all.  I hope you do too.

I wish I could make myself be responsible and post at least weekly, to my blog.  I guess I can keep wishing.  It has been a crazy year, with most things being positive.  Fall has been great, we have managed several trips on the motorcycle, and I have finally got back into doing some scrapbooking.  I guess there is hope for the blog too then.  I need to get pictures of the things I have made this year and post them.  It feels good to be creative again.  We had sad times of loosing Mabel, one of our furbabies, and happiness when we were able to rescue Kassie our new furbaby.

I guess I need to get busy and post to my blog

WOW, I just saw, it  has been nearly 10 years since I have posted.  Guess I will work at getting better at it.  We are laid up for a bit, we had a motorcycle accident.  Dennis broke his foot, and I am beat up and bruised.
