Saturday and more heat and humidty

Last night produced some nasty storms in our area, thankfully Des Moines was lucky. Indianola ws not as lucky. Was watching KCCI when their web cam actually caught debris being tossed around as the tornado hit ground. Dennis got caught in the storm in Des Moines on the motorcycle coming home from DMACC and had to pull off and wait for it to calm down. He was really soaked by the time he got home!

We are getting down to the wire on scheduling, and registration is on Wednesday, so we are scrambling to get things done. I am learning new work with this as they cut one position, and her job was to do some of what I am learning to do now. I enjoy learning the new work that is now going to be a part of my position.

Today has been gloomy most of the day, the weather is just weird. I hope it cools down tomorrow as they say it should. Rich and Tina will be home tomorrow from their honeymoon and I can't wait to see them! We are also having a birthday open house for a dear friend, Pam. She is fighting cancer and the family decided they wanted to do this. It should be fun, with lots of people there. Dennis and I need to go to the store so I can get things to make what I am taking.

I am also hoping to get that scrap table cleaned off! I need to do some scrapping!

July is Almost Over!

I don't know where this year has gone. 2010 has really given my family lots of things that made us take a moment to realize how important life is, how short it is, and how important we are to each other.

July 10, 2010 was a GLORIOUS day! That was the day that my oldest son, Rich married the love of his life, Tina in a small ceremony on Highway 108, MidoroCut, Wisconsin. The vows they wrote to each other show the special Love they have for each other. Its a love we don't always see anymore and with these two, you could really see it.

Dennis and I left on Friday night the 9th with Sherrill and Ben and Pam and Glenn and headed north to Austin, Minnesota for the night, and then took some twisty roads on into Wisconsin on Saturday AM. Rich and Tina, and several others left Des Moines on Saturday Morning. About 3:30 in the afternoon, we all lined up in the campground and headed out to the historical marker and the wedding site. Going down 108 I was thinking, ok,this is ok, but they talked about it being so pretty...aahhh, just give it a couple miles! What beauty! Mindoro Cut is a place cut out of the mountain and is just wonderful. There Maureen Wicks, a member of our GWTA motorcycle chapter, and a minister, performed the ceremony and Rich and Tina became Mr. and Mrs. Rich McCullough. We left there and headed on into Mindoro to a grill and pub for some celebration and dinner. This place had 108 different hamburgers, located on Wisconsin 108! It was great. We all had rally mugs and enjoyed some time and Rich and Tina had their first dance.

Then it was back to the campground for some relaxing, a bon fire, wedding cupcakes, a champaign toast, and listing to lots of stories being shared. Some of us oldies went to our cabins and slept, we just don't do the late nights. The rest were up until 2:30 or so. Some folks from another camp area heard there was a party going on where we were and had a golf cart, loaded with coolers and came up to enjoy. They had a great time!

Sunday morning came with some clean up, packing up and all family and guests heading for home. Rich and Tina left about 11:30 am for their honeymoon, and made it to Wall, South Dakota their first night. Carl and John left the campground early that morning, and Crazy Don left from Des Moines and all 5 of them met up there in Wall. They were all headed to the same final destination, Redmond, Oregon for the International BMW rally. Their they met up with two more guys, Rich and Craig. After the rally, the guys were headed home, and Rich and Tina headed to the Pacific Ocean. Had some beautiful riding for a few days in Oregon, before heading to Hell's Canyon, back across Idaho with wind, and then tonight are in Cody Wyoming visiting Tina's sister Tami. They will be home on Sunday and I can't wait to see them both.

I will have to get some pictures uploaded and shared!

May is Coming to a close Already

Here it is, almost Memorial Day Weekend, the marking of the beginning of summer and graduation time. It is really hard to realize that 5 months are already gone of 2010. They say the older you are the faster time goes, that is sure the truth! However, you would think we were in the heart of summer with our temps. I believe it is over 90 degrees right now, and its after 5 pm. Everyone, please enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend and BE SAFE. Watch for children playing, bicycles, and motorcycles.

Lots of plans for the summer, meaning lots of things to get done. I need to find a way to get several things in this house done and cleaned. Yard is a mess, and really need to declutter in the house and in the garage! If I would take more time in the scrap room that would free up lots of space by getting pictures on pages and protected. That needs to be a priority also.

We have a wedding this summer, Rich and his most wonderful fiance' will get married. He has picked the most wonderful woman to marry. When you are around them, you can truly tell they are soul mates. How wonderful. Finding a soul mate is really special.

Mike has already been traveling. He has reminded me too many times, that I am the one who taught him to follow his dreams. Oh Boy! LOL..

Well, I am not doing so well at keeping up my blog, am I? Its been a busy few days. I think things are just going to get busier through the fall. It will be good though. Lots of great things lay ahead. Rich and Tina's wedding, hopefully lots of motorcycling, camping, and just enjoying life in general. Dennis taught last weekend and weather wasn't so good, rained Friday through Monday. Last night was a little chilly for some. Dennis was teaching again, so I went ahead and met up with the GWRRA as they were just eating out in Altoona. Tonight, we are meeting up at TR's sportsbar in Clive for their pork chop dinner. Great food, reasonable, and tons of funship! We never seem to leave there without having first stuffed ourselves and laughed till our sides hurt. That is what it is all about! Enjoying life.

Dennis has guard this weekend, so if we ride, it would have to be in the evenings. We might ride a little tonight before TR's will depend on wind, they say it is going to be bad today. If you have ever ridden a motorcycle in the wind, you know what I am talking about.

With him at guard I better get back in the groove again, cleaning the house and scrapbooking. Can I get it all done, heck yes...he teaches thursday night, so that would be a good time to clean. Saturday morning there is a meeting with one of the groups, will do that, come home and have some lemonade or sweet tea and scrappppppp

I will also work on uploading pictures to both my blog and facebook.

Finally Blogging

Well, here it is April 19, 2010 and I don't believe I have posted since February 2009. Ok, time to make a change here. This was one of my goals for 2010, along with getting some scrapbooking done, learning some things on the digital camera, making cards, doing a cross stitch project, etc. I have managed 53 pages, and it feels really good, need to get back to work and try to get more done. I have made a few cards and want to do more, that is about as far as I have got.

This past weekend was a wonderful weekend, we were able to get on the motorcycle for our first trip of the year. We did about 600 miles, we went to a rally in Weston, Missouri with lots of friends. Several went down on Friday night, 11 of us, more came in on Saturday morning. The motel we had was wonderful, he had all of us in one wing, and we had doors to the outside for our close to the door bike parking, and they had hall doors, of which we seemed to keep them open and were back and forth room to room. We had tons of food, and lots of stories. We also did some planning for the coming year. Its gonna be wonderful! The weather this spring has made for some good riding and for that we are thankful.

Dennis and I now have a certificate to go to a beautiful Victorian Bed and Breakfast in Weston and I personally hope we can use it in the fall or winter. Great way to get away for a bit. The area is really beautiful and lots to see and do.

Last Fall my little 'shitzu/yorkie' was diagnosed with Kidney Failure. I am pleased to say, she is reacting to treatment very well. I didn't really expect to still have her, but she is our baby. Dennis had both dogs groomed while we were gone this weekend, and they were at the Doggie Daycare. She came home with two cute things in her ears that almost look like little flowers. Max came home looking so old with his gray showing through, but he is feeling better with those mats and long fur gone! He had a cute doggie scarf on, and he enjoys those, somestimes we find him just carring it in his mouth, while attached to his neck. Silly boy!

Looking forward to Rich and Tina's wedding coming soon, in July! WOW! I can't wait. Its going to be so much fun!

Well, Nothing much more for now, I will get busy and upload some pictures of things we have done.
